about us

When is the best time to drink a wine?

This is an inexact science based on fruit weight, concentration, age of vines, alcohol content, tannin and acid balance. Here are our best guesses for the wines we have produced to date:

1998 pinot noir: drinking at its peak, good until 2006.

1998 reserve pinot noir: peak in 2004 then another 4 more.

2000 pinot noir: peak in 2005, then another 4.

2000 reserve pinot noir: peak in 2009 then another 8 to 10 years.

2000 swan hill chardonnay: plenty of time left, big improver.

2000 shiraz: peak in 2005 then another 5 to 10 years.

2001 bellarine selection pinot noir: peak in 2004 and then 3.

2001 pinot noir: peak in 2006 and then another 4 to 5 years.

2001 reserve pinot noir: peak in 2006, then another 4 to 5 years.

2001 chardonnay: great now, peak in 2009 plus 5.

2002 pinot noir: peak in 2007, then another 5 years.

2002 reserve pinot noir : peak in 2009 plus 5 to 10 years.

2002 chardonnay: peak in2006, then another 8 years.

2002 pinot gris: should improve for 5 years at least but store in a cool place as this wine has not gone through malo and is unfiltered.

2003 chardonnay: start drinking 2006 then another 10 years.
